When Levi was placed in my arms upon his birth, Keith and I inspected every square milimeter of his tiny body and found him to be utterly perfect. He had five fingers on each hand, five tiny toes on each foot; everything was in the right spot, and he had the brightest blue eyes we’d ever seen. I assure you, with no bias whatsoever, that he was the most perfect and beautifully coneheaded baby I’d ever seen. 😀
Imagine my amazement, when last night I noticed a little mark on his neck when I picked him up from the babysitter. Ah, it’s just a speck of dirt, right? Well, after our shower this morning, the mark still remains. How, after our utterly thorough birth inspection, could we have missed this little birthmark hiding in the folds of his neck? It seems I learn something new everyday about my little man, but I was certainly surprised to find this little birthmark. It’s fairly light, but if you look you’ll be able to see it – it’s half shadowed by his ear, but now he’s asleep so I’m not going to risk waking him for a better picture. I wonder if Keith has seen this birthmark… hmmm…..

Does the newness wear off? I can’t answer that, but it hasn’t yet for us yet. It just gets better each day.
And as far as the “birthmark” on his neck… uh huh. The little man was putting the moves on his babysitter. Mark my words, he’ll be using that same excuse when he’s 16 and getting home from a date, “leave me alone Mom, it’s just my birthmark!”
uh, his babysitters name was Nate….
Martha, Saw your pictures of Levi. It was nice to be able to see the pictures and know what you are doing now. Haven’t seen you since you were very young. Love, Sis Karen
