On the ride home last night I sprung a leak in my radiator.
Not that big of a deal except that I didn’t notice it until i was in the red “NOT GOOD”.
not sure of the damage yet we will see.

That is definitely not good. Too bad the car didn’t sound a warning bell or siren. It appears you are in good hands.
Actually, Keith was the one who posted that. 🙂 It’s his car (Toyota) not my Honda, which is a 6 cylinder. We tore apart the head and it looks fine, no cracks of any kind. The oil was perfectly clean inside the head, no water anywhere it shouldn’t have been. So now we replace the gaskets in the head and the valve guide seals (which weren’t looking so good) and the radiator and put it all back together again.
Whee, sounds fun. It must be that time of the year. I just finished tearing apart the Jetta engine to put a new timing belt and water pump in. Fortunately, mine was only preventive maintenance but it sounds like you didn’t do any damage that a few hours and some cheap parts can’t take care of.
