Our New Addition

So I was at the post office the other day and saw this poor pitiful looking kitty, and it was cold and snowy and the poor kitty was so skinny and uncared for. Upon closer inspection, his tail was crooked in at least three places and he was missing a patch of fur on his hind leg. I think he may have had a run in with a moving vehicle. So, in a moment of sheer weakness, I nabbed the poor kitten and put him in the trunk and brought him home. You see, Keith has been complaining about the rodents getting into his workshop and helping themselves to his “Take Fives” and other sorts of yummy sweets he had stashed there. I figured this was a great way to clean up his rodent problem and give the poor kitty a new home. Even though Melvin is confined to the workshop, I figure it’s gotta be better than no food and no shelter. So without further ado, I present Melvin, King Workshop Kitty!

Keith and Melvinmelvin

Chloe doesn’t quite know what to think about the new kitty. Instead of running away when she chases it, the kitty has decided to make Chloe his best friend. He does figure eights around her legs and purrs. If Chloe chases, he rubs against her. When Chloe had Melvin’s head in her mouth trying to get him to play, the kitty just stood there and purred. Chloe got the funniest look on her face and just stared at us, as if to say, “Are you really a cat? You sure don’t act like one!”

  1. Sorry I didn’t get to the photos yesterday. We didn’t get home from Sharolyn’s until 10 pm and had lots of things to attend to before everyone could get to bed (bedtime is 10 pm) and I wasn’t feeling so good all day. So much for excuses! The nursery looks great. I remember what that upstairs looked like. Are they planning to do more on the house besides that room area? Your tummy proves it – yup – you’re pregnant! Thanks for the updated photos. Love you – ma
