Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year’s celebration! Keith and I’s resolution for this year is for both of us to obtain private pilot certification by the end of the summer. Anyone have any that they want to share?

In spite of not having school right now, I seem to be keeping really busy. I have taken on a couple of odd jobs to earn some extra cash. I’ve started tutoring a classmate in math, and I altered and hemmed some curtains for one of Keith’s friends. His friend then told one of his friends, and now I have another curtain making job – these ones from scratch. Who would have thought?

I have also joined a community volleyball team at the proddings of one of their members. I went on Sunday night and had a lot of fun.

In other news, Keith has moved his airplane downstairs in the barn. It makes it easier for him to work on and it’s also not as hard to keep the weather out as it was in the loft. Smaller area to work in, but easier to heat too. πŸ™‚

Happy New Year!

I’m Done

Yay! My classes are all done. Final grades have not been posted yet, but unofficially I four-pointed all my classes. Yippee! It’s such a relief to have this semester behind me. I resume classes on the ninth of January at CMU. I have 18 credit hours, so it promises to be a very hectic semester. In addition, I will be doing some sub teaching if I have the time.

In other news, Keith and I will attend the Christmas Eve service at our church (www.eriv.net) for the first time since we’ve started going. Although it means we miss the big family celebration with his Grandma, we are excited about going. In addition, my bestest brother and his family are joining us, so it will be a very special evening.

Keith is moving his airplane project to the ground level in the barn. Unfortunately, he can’t keep the snow out of the loft where his plane is currently sitting. So he is clearing out one of the stanchions, resupporting some of the rotted timbers, and weatherproofing the area. It is not as big of an area, but it should be easier to weatherproof. It puts him behind schedule a bit, but we are both working on it now that I am out of school.

We took Christmas photos with our digital camera. They turned out really good on screen, but we are having some difficulties with the printing out. The first ones came out way too dark, the second ones too grainy (I think I played with the coloring too much). Keith is taking them in today to see what he can do about a third set. πŸ™‚

I wish all of you a joyous Christmas and a blessed New Year. Have a wonderful holiday and for those of you traveling, DRIVE SAFELY.

It’s December

Yay! There is finally a bit of snow on the ground. πŸ™‚ Not very much, but enough to cover the ugly brown up and make the trees look pretty. Today, I am going to get in the Christmas spirit and break out the christmas decorations and decorate the house, if my shoulder can handle it. It’s been really sore for the last month, so I finally made a doctors appointment.

Anyhow, I’ve been pretty busy with school and all the fun projects that go along with it, but there are only two weeks left. Phew… what a relief.

Since I’ve now posted something new, the blog police can get off my back. I think I did it within the specified 24 hour time period alotted.

Happy Belated Birthday Amy!

I have been remiss. I did not post birthday wishes to my freind Amy. Belated Birthday wishes, Amy. I’ll post your picture later. πŸ˜€ I don’t have it on hand on my iBook… its on my desktop computer.

Here she is! Be careful what you wish for Amy Lou!

KR Progress

I finally had time to work on my airplane. Saturday morning I worked on the hinges for the elevator and Sunday afternoon I cut out new airfoil templates for the vertical stabilizer and elevator. Here’s a couple of pictures of what I’ve accomplished.

New Post

I’m feeling the need to post something new since it is way past Jen’s Birthday, but my life is pretty boring right now, so I don’t have much to post. I downloaded FireFox the other day and am playing with it and the themes. It’s a pretty cool program and I am quickly learning to like it more than Safari. I especially like the tabs feature.

I’ve also been looking up scholarships on the web for teachers, or history, or anything else that may pertain to me, so if anyone would like to contribute, I’ll write an essay to you too. πŸ™‚ Just give me the topic, I’ll add it to my list.

I have a kind of lull in school right now. Midterms are past, and I chose to do all of my semester projects early in the year, so that I don’t really have a lot to do for school other than maintain and keep up with the reading. Maybe even catch up a little, since I was so busy a couple weeks ago. I guess thats all for now.

Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday to Jennifer Simerson, my most favoritest sister-in-law in the world. She married to my most favoritest brother.

Happy Birthday Jen!

New iMac

So I just had lunch with my friend LaTia. I showed her my iBook because she was talking about wanting to get a laptop for grad school and she was also talking about asking her dad for an iPod for Christmas. She was pretty impressed with the iBook. Since we were in Frandor, we walked over to CompUSA to look at the different types of iPod’s. We looked at them for awhile and then mosied over to the Apple computing section. I was looking for the new iMacs to play around with, and see all the fun new features, and didn’t see a new one. I asked about the new ones and they were just getting it out of the box to display. We had the pleasure of watching it set up (for all you non-mac people, its a matter of plugging it in and typing in your name and address, basically). She was impressed with how quickly and easily it was set up and asked where all the CD’s were to load everything. πŸ™‚ I think we may have a mac convert… or at least one can hope. We played with photobooth for a bit… i took our picture, then set the desktop to it. She figured out how to undo that, but the picture is still in PhotoBooth. I should go back over there and email it to myself… I think I will since I’m right next door, and then post it here. πŸ™‚ We had fun.

And, no, this post was not paid for by Apple.

P.S. Ok, so I did, and here it is:
